I started work at Veloce on 6th May 2008 as a World Wide Web Networker.
My role at Veloce is to promote Veloce and its products via the web, these duties include making sure the company has a presence on as many social networking sites as possible, maintaining the Veloce blog, finding special interest groups and individuals in cyberspace to inform them directly about products that relate to their interests and make them special offers. I also explore new web-based opportunities to promote Veloce products as they appear, and then instigate the necessary action.
I studied BA (Hons) Interactive Media at The Arts Institute at Bournemouth. This course consisted of two years FdA Interactive Media and in a third year BA top up where i articulated in Graphic Design. This course involved the development of a broad range of digital media from photography, video, sound, web design, interface deign, theories of interactivity and image manipulation. My interests include Web Culture, Graphic Design, Networking, Online Auctioning, Dj-ing and Turntablism.
Since working at Veloce Publishing i have become fascinated by the link that social networking can have with book publishing and the possibilities it presents. My involvement with this has also made me more aware of the gradual shift publishing is undergoing from physical books towards more web-orientated consumption.
